A little about Sarah

Sarah Jack (they/she) is a Brooklyn-based Actor originally from Providence, RI. They are a queer/non-binary actor who specializes in theater and film.

Sarah had always wanted to pursue acting, but struggled with an intense social anxiety growing up which prevented them from getting their start until one of their high school English teacher’s encouraged them to give it a try. When Sarah got accepted into Bennington College, they decided to finally go after their dream. Since graduating, Sarah has been determined to further improve their craft and gain experience working professionally as a performer.

After living in Dublin, Ireland, for one year where they studied at the Gaiety School of Acting as well as the Momentum Acting Studio, Sarah officially moved to New York City in 2019. Since then, they have gone onto study Meisner at the Terry Knickerbocker Studio which helped them lay the foundation of their approach to the craft of acting.

Though Sarah is always open to working on new and exciting contemporary work, their true love is Shakespeare. As a gender non-conforming actor, they find immense freedom to express their gender through the Bard’s romantic language. They hope to continue to explore each one of the bard’s plays from a queer perspective and provide an unexpected approach to these classic characters.

As someone who believes in the power of theater to be transformational and provide a space to enlarge our capacity for empathy, Sarah wants to explore stories that push them to improve their craft and inspire audiences to step outside their comfort zones.

Aside from theatre, Sarah spends their time working at a non-profit that provides financial assistance to those within the performing arts and entertainment community. They also work as a part-time box office associate, a freelance Production Assistant, and even a freelance photographer. In their spare time, they love to write poetry, paint, and perfect their flautist technique.

Sarah is a proud alumna of Bennington College where they received their BA in Theatre with a focus in Acting and a minor in Directing.
